Photo: Samuel Allan<br><br><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The Wall Street Journal<\/em>\u2019s global headquarters in Midtown Manhattan hosted a Student Editors\u2019 Summit on March 22 that drew several CUNY students and two Hunter College students and a faculty member among the crowd of roughly 50 from around the city. <br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The summit began with students watching and listening to the <em>Journal<\/em>\u2019s morning newsroom editorial meeting via Skype. Afterwards, various editors and journalists answered students\u2019 questions and offered insights into the reporting process and tips to navigate busy newsrooms. <br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The head of &nbsp;the <em>Journal<\/em>\u2019s ethics committee focused on the news organization\u2019s unique commitment to presenting unbiased reporting during politically polarized times. All offered tips on gaining employment in the field of journalism.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After a brief catered lunch, students were taken on a tour of the facilities. The tour guide, news editor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/news\/author\/demetria-gallegos\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Demetria Gallegos<\/a> showed students each department and newsroom. Students then returned to the conference room where the day began for a farewell from editors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hunter Student Bianca Buffamonte said of the day, &#8220;The opportunities Hunter presents to students really opens my eyes to a variety of future job opportunities.
