September 16, 2022 — The WSJ is now accepting applications for 2023 newsroom internships in the U.S. There are 14 types of internship opportunities in the U.S. that are posted on WSJ.jobs. WSJ internships are also posted on Handshake.

The Wall Street Journal is an American business-focused, international daily newspaper based in New York City, with international editions also available in Chinese and Japanese.

Job Description

All interns will have the opportunity to work in a Pulitzer Prize-winning newsroom with the option of various fields such as Reporting, Podcasting, and Graphics with some of the most established journalists in the world.

Spring interns are paid a rate of $25.71 an hour, and summer interns will receive $900 per week. There will also be a stipend to help with the cost of public transportation.

Timing

Spring internships will take place between January and early May to accommodate the schedules of students who are still enrolled in school. Interns will be required to work a minimum of 16 to 20 hours per week over 15 weeks, depending on their class load. Applicants with the availability of at least two full work days are ideal.

Summer internships take place over June, July, and August, though start dates can be flexible in certain circumstances.

Only finalists will be contacted. The WSJ will review applications on a rolling basis and make selections before Thanksgiving for spring internships and by the end of January for Summer internships.

Please submit a resume, cover letter, and no more than five samples of your work. Only complete applications will be considered. The deadline to apply is Monday, October 17, 2022, at noon EST for spring internships and Friday, November 4, 2022, at noon EST for summer internships.
