$2,500 Deadline Club scholarship for journalism students due March 16

By Stella Chu

The time has come to apply for Deadline Club’s annual scholarship for journalists! If you’re a student journalist, you can apply for a chance to win $2,500. If selected, you will attend the annual awards dinner as an honored guest. Hunter student Kadia Goba won the scholarship in 2018.

Applicants must complete an electronic application form by 11:59 pm on Wednesday, March 16, and write a 300-word essay describing why you want to pursue a journalism career and how the scholarship would help you attain your goals. Applicants must also submit a portfolio of three published samples from any platform. Two letters of recommendations are required as well.

The scholarship is open to graduate and undergraduate journalism students in the New York metropolitan area. Prospective students who have been accepted and plan to enroll in a journalism program in the New York area in the fall are also invited to apply.
