Job Description

The Entercom Internship Program is designed to provide participants with the opportunity to learn about the radio broadcasting industry while getting hands-on experience in Programming, On-Air, Marketing/Promotions, Sales, Production, Content Creation, HR and Digital. In additional to work experience, we provide exposure to executives via lunch and learns. We encourage networking with our employees and fellow interns; make the most out of your time with us.

Summer internship programs in New York are at 1010 WINS, ALT 92.3, New 102.7, WCBS 880, WCBS-FM 101.1, WFAN and CBS Sports Radio.

Responsibilities

Will include but are not limited to:

  • Digital Work across programming, digital, and sales at one of our local stations 
  • Support day-to-day content on the digital and programming side of the business Interact with producers, show hosts, and anchors will a high level of professionalism 
  • Create content: written, audio and video Work on various research projects and collaboration efforts across the stations
  • NCP Sales Support the National Client Partnerships team and perform daily office functions 
  • Work closely with Sales Coordinators to prepare for client meetings by researching attendees, developing presentation materials, and creating and/or maintaining one-sheets and media kits 
  • Support the Director of Sales Operations with maintaining the NCP shared drive with the latest company information and collateral
  • Research industry trends, target client media spending habits, and present findings to management 
  • Attend sales meetings, training sessions and client remotes as needed
  • HR Avature administration (assist with job posting, candidate disposition, and background check status) 
  • Assist with special projects as required 
  • Conduct relevant research pertaining to HR functions 
  • Compile various report data Assist with various generalist tasks as assigned 
  • Assist with filing employee and job files ensuring accuracy and compliance

Qualifications

Required

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be currently attending an accredited college/university
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to work 20 hours a week
  • Strong multi-tasking, organization, and time management skills
  • Ability to excel in a team environment, yet resourceful and self-motivated

Preferred

  • Journalism and/or Broadcasting experience preferred
  • Digital editing experience and familiarity with digital editing software such as Adobe Digital Editions
  • Experience with creating content for social media platforms, i.e. facebook, twitter, etc.
  • Editing experience: written, video, audio

Nice To Have

  • Radio experience
  • Knowledge and passion for music, news, and/or sports
