Student Environmental Journalism Award Launched

The Society of Environmental Journalists‘ annual award competition has reintroduced its student journalism category, in honor of 2019 as the Year of the Student Journalist.

The category for “outstanding student reporting” will be awarded for a story or series on an environmental topic by a student enrolled in a university, college or high school. The story or stories must be be published, aired or otherwise produced in a media outlet accessible to the general public. Entries must be published between March 1, 2018, and February 28, 2019.

All radio, TV, print and online publications published or aired by the original media outlet are eligible, including campus media, journalism produced during internships and part-time jobs. Class assignments not published, posted or broadcast to the public are not eligible.
