Independent New York television station CUNY TV has been educating and informing city viewers for more than three decades. Established in 1985, the station has steadily increased its ambition and scope, and in 2009 became a full-capacity HD studio and post-production facility, with a six-camera mobile production truck. CUNY TV’s expanded reach includes an enhanced commitment to community broadcasting while maintaining a consistent link to its roots in lifelong learning. CUNY TV is the recipient of 14 New York Emmy® Awards, and other prestigious industry honors including the Telly Award and Communicator Awards, and more than 60 Emmy nominations. CUNY TV continues to be cablecast on Ch. 75 (Spectrum and Cablevision/Optimum Brooklyn), Ch. 77 (RCN) and Ch. 30 (Verizon).

Job Description

Student interns work 8 hours per week, or 100 hours per semester. Each intern is assigned to a show where he/she will:
* Attend meetings
* Pitch story ideas
* Research
* Fact Check
* Source B-roll
* Interact with in house library team
* Production Assist on Shoots
* Production Assist on Edits
* Production Assist in the Studio, Control Room & Green Room
* Assist in online social distribution for assigned show

Deadlines for applying are not strict, but in general follow this schedule:
