We are looking for interns that would like to provide pre-employment coaching to refugees. Both positions have language requirements. RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/strong> RESPONSIBILITIES: Feb 8th<\/sup>, 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Looking for a PAID, SHORT-TERM, CREATIVE PROJECT?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n When:<\/strong> Begins early February 2023 (Minimum 4 hours per week across three to four weeks<\/em>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Who:<\/strong> Undergraduate and\/or Graduate Students who have demonstrated experience using Final Cut Pro <\/strong>(this is a must)<\/em>. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n What: <\/strong>Comfortable teaching a professional adult, in a one-on-one setting, how to edit short and long-form video segments. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Provide one-on-one job coaching and counseling for clients.
Assist clients in developing resumes, cover letters, and preparing for interviews.
Conduct enrollment and intakes and surveys for all clients.
Track client meetings and progress in spreadsheet and through case noting on ETO software.
Research employment and vocational training opportunities in NYC.
Maintain database of clients and employers for program staff.
Assist in facilitation of Job Readiness Trainings via Whatsapp and Zoom.
Work in conjunction with the IRC Employment Specialists to develop relationships with employers\/businesses and organizations providing workforce services in NYC.
Communicate effectively in person and by telephone.
Collaborate with other IRC in NY programs as necessary
Adhere to IRC policies, particularly those related to confidentiality and client privacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\nMatching Grant Intern – (Spanish)<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Provide intake, assessment, and pre-employment\/job readiness orientation to clients eligible for employment services
\u2022 Orient participants to the Matching Grant early employment program, including the rules and expectations of the program
\u2022 Participate in development of self-sufficiency plans for employable adults and engage adults in budgeting at time of employment to assess household income versus expenses
\u2022 Provide individualized job preparation, job application and job placement services that enhance clients’ employability and result in successful placements
\u2022 Assist with development of MG’s training materials for local staff and disseminating MG learning resources where relevant
\u2022 Adapt and update content from existing MG trainings or tools
\u2022 Search useful research and data collection tools\/resources; Assist with the development and update of MG’s library of tools\/resources
