Welcome!Whether you’re returning to campus or just beginning your time here, we want to welcome you to Hunter—and introduce you to the Office of the Arts!
Each week, the OOA sends Your Week in the Arts, with free events on campus, ticket offers, internship listings, and more.
But first, here’s a quick look at what the Office of the Arts does:
1. We connect students to the arts in NYC and on campus. The OOA organizes free outings—to Broadway shows, the Metropolitan Opera, New York City Center, and more—and shares info about events on campus, from department readings and concerts to student-produced showcases.
(We also like to remind you of the dozens of theaters and museums where your Hunter ID gets you free or reduced admission!)

2. We support students artists and arts majors.
The OOA brings guest artists to campus to talk about their work, hosts career development workshops, and funds internships for arts majors.

3. We advocate for a more equitable arts ecosystem.
The OOA works with arts organizations, government officials, and artists, around issues like ticket prices, developing spaces where artists can make and share work, and building a career pipeline for artists and arts workers from working class and public school backgrounds. See more at workingclassartist.org.
