The ideal candidate will assist<br>students, faculty, and staff with multimedia projects, provide technical support for AV equipment and<br>software, and help maintain a collaborative and innovative media production environment.<br>GENERAL DUTIES<br>Reporting to the John Jay College DCL Program Manager and the ePortfolio Program Assistant, the Lab<br>Assistant supports a variety of DCL operation and ePortfolio Program activities along with other Learning<br>Technologies initiatives. The Lab Assistant is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day activities as<br>outlined below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Provide technical assistance to students, faculty, and staff in the use of audiovisual and media<br>production equipment and software.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support faculty and student projects involving video and audio recording, production, digital<br>media editing, and digital portfolios.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Troubleshoot and resolve basic technical issues related to A\/V hardware and software.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Facilitate audiovisual, media &amp; ePortfolio workshops.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contribute to social media initiatives and event planning.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monitor support e-mails and EAB Navigate requests.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assist with the setup, calibration, and maintenance of A\/V equipment, including cameras,<br>microphones, lighting systems, and editing workstations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monitor lab activities to ensure compliance with institutional policies and proper use of<br>resources.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain inventory and equipment checkout records; report damaged or missing equipment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Perform related duties as assigned.<br>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must have knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, MS Office, Googe Drive, Digication and\/or other<br>online website creation programs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills and organizational skills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proficiency in camera operation, lighting setup, and audio recording techniques.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong understanding of media file formats, data management, and digital workflows.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to think creatively about the strengths and needs of college students.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must demonstrate sufficient skills to perform the duties of the assigned tasks.<br>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Knowledge of AI.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience in Canon and Apple product ecosystem.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience with social media marketing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Work experience in a media lab, film studio, or audiovisual support role.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>CONTRACT TITLE<br>College Assistant<br>FLSA<br>Non-exempt<br>COMPENSATION:<br>This is a part-time position of up to 8-15 hours per week, scheduling of the days can be worked out.<br>Hourly rate is $20 per hour. Appointment is on a per semester basis and subject to budgetary and<br>renewal approval.<br>BENEFITS<br>CUNY offers a comprehensive benefits package to employees and eligible dependents based on<br>job title and classification.
