{"id":1525,"date":"2024-10-21T14:08:02","date_gmt":"2024-10-21T18:08:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fm.hunter.cuny.edu\/internship\/?p=1525"},"modified":"2024-10-21T14:08:04","modified_gmt":"2024-10-21T18:08:04","slug":"2500-media-scholarship-for-hunter-students-application-deadline-october-20-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fm.hunter.cuny.edu\/internship\/2024\/10\/21\/2500-media-scholarship-for-hunter-students-application-deadline-october-20-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"$2,500 Media Scholarship for Hunter Students | Application Deadline October 20, 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Preview attachment CENTRO &amp; HITN Media Scholarship Fall 2024 (1).pdf<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mail.google.com\/mail\/u\/0?ui=2&amp;ik=6999af1269&amp;attid=0.1&amp;permmsgid=msg-f:1811188848386689401&amp;th=1922a2a9593cc979&amp;view=snatt&amp;disp=thd&amp;safe=1\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Application Deadline: October 20, 2024<br>The CENTRO and HITN Media Scholarship Program aims to inspire students to create<br>impactful media projects highlighting the Puerto Rican experience in the United States.<br>PURPOSE<br>The Media Scholarship Program has two main objectives:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To encourage students to use their media arts talents to tell compelling stories about the<br>Puerto Rican experience in the United States.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To provide scholarship recipients the opportunity to produce media content using the<br>extensive resources and collections available at the CENTRO Library and Archives at<br>Hunter College.<br>ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA<br>Applicants must:<br>\u25cf Be currently enrolled at Hunter College.<br>\u25cf Have a demonstrated background in media arts, including, but not limited to,<br>photography, film, video, audio, computer and digital arts, or interactive media.<br>\u25cf Show a strong interest in exploring and documenting a story about the Puerto Rican<br>experience in the United States.<br>APPLICATION PROCESS<br>Interested students must submit the following:<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Application Form: Complete an online application.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proposal: Submit a 250 to 500-word proposal describing their idea for a media product<br>that uses one or more CENTRO Library and Archives collections to tell a story from the<br>Puerto Rican diasporic experience. The proposal must include ideas on how they plan to<br>use CENTRO resources.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Portfolio: Provide links to samples of previous media projects.<br>SELECTION PROCESS<br>Applications will be reviewed by a committee of staff members from CENTRO\u2019s Emmy<br>Award-winning Media Unit and representatives from the HITN Television Network. Selections<br>will be based on the quality of the portfolio, the strength of the proposal, and the potential impact<br>of the proposed media project.<br>DEADLINE<br>All application materials must be uploaded by 11:59 PM on October 20, 2024.<br>SCHOLARSHIP AWARD<br>Scholarship payments will be disbursed according to a set schedule throughout the Fall semester.<br>Projects must be completed by the end of the Fall semester.
