IMA student Lizzie Warren’s Emmy-nominated documentary “WarZone/Comfort Zone” aired on the PBS WORLD channel Sunday, 11/13 at 11:00 AM. The film uncovers the plight of four women veterans for normalcy and peace without the benefit of a comprehensive support system, left to the cope with life after their military service.
Documentary film No Dress Code Required, written and directed by IMA alumna Cristina Herrera opens on Friday, November 3rd at Village East Cinema, NYC. The film chronicles the challenges of a gay Mexican couple overcoming a long series of bizarre hurdles and a bureaucratic system to get the rights to marry.

Veteran’s Day Reframed will screen two films that follow U.S. military veterans returned from two different wars – the Iraq war and the Vietnam war – suffering from the trauma of their service, and becoming activists and advocates for peace and treatment for veterans. There will be a post-screening discussion with the Filmmakers and Veterans.
