News 12 The Bronx, News 12 Brooklyn and News 12 The Bronx are exclusive 24-hour local news services dedicated to bringing residents information about their neighborhoods. Available exclusively to Optimum Television customers, News 12 provides 24-hour access to local breaking news, traffic, weather, sports, and more.

Since the first year of programming in 1998, News 12 outlets have had the honor of receiving numerous industry and community awards including a prestigious New York Emmy Award, a New York Associated Press Award, and a National Headliner award among others.

News 12 has an extensive internship program for qualified students. We offer students the chance to explore their interests in the fields of electronic news gathering and production while obtaining hands-on experience.

Paid or for credit only

News 12 internships are unpaid.

Internship requirements

Students must receive college credit for their internship at News 12 Long Island.
Students must have completed at least one semester in college.
Required Majors: Journalism, Broadcast Journalism, Communications, TV Production, Photography, Film, Graphic Design or other related subjects.
