This weekend, IMA student Seyi Adebanjo’s thesis will be screening in Austin with Allgo, Queer People of Color organization. The organization will be presenting The Orita Project an International Film and Dance Performance.
The Orita Project is an international film and performance endeavor exploring sexuality and gender in the Yoruba spiritual diaspora. The project centers Nigerian performance cosmology within contemporary ritual, social, dance, and cultural landscapes to question the affects anti-gay legislation and pre-colonial experience have within these communities. Seyi Adebanjo will be screening excerpts from this powerful project.
