New York Women in Film and Television featured IMA alumna Fouzia Najar’s short film Semiotics of Islam at Anthology Film Archives. Semiotics of Islam is inspired by a 1975 experimental feminist film, Semiotics of Islam combats Islamophobia, by highlighting the media’s role in misrepresentation.

IMA student Lindsey Cordero wins Princess Grace Award
IMA student Lindsey Cordero recently received the 2015 Princess Grace Film Honorarium for her first feature documentary I’m Leaving Now, and she is co-producing the independent feature film On the 7th Day written and directed by Jim McKay.

Rachel Stevens and IMA alumnae Laura Chipley, Sarah Nelson Wright, Samara Smith, A.E. Souzis present their projects at Visible Evidence. Projects: Oyster City, The Newtown Creek Armada, Architextour and COMMotion. Collectively, these projects draw on a variety of mobile technologies to increase interactivity and participation.
