Prof. Rachel Stevens, IMA Alumna Meredith Drum and IMA Student Ghen Dennis at ISSUE Project Room

On September 15, 2010 at 8 p.m. at ISSUE Project Room guest curators Meredith Drum and Rachel Stevens will present “Hurricane Season,” a one-night screening of experimental documentary shorts reflecting the recent history of the Gulf Coast of the U.S. —– catastrophic storms, an oil spill, a pattern of government un-response and other evidence of a complex system out of balance.

IMA Alum Benj Gerdes screening at Flaherty NYC

IMA Alum Benj Gerdes’ thesis and other work will be at the opening of the 3rd season of Flaherty NYC. The event will be presenting works from 2010 Flaherty Seminar featured artists Benj Gerdes and Jennifer Hayashida, including: Strike Anywhere, Populus Tremula, Iraq: Because There Are So Many, Happy Anniversary: San Francisco, March 20-21, 2003 and Terms of Service: When We Pretend, We’re in Control. There will be a post-screening discussion with the filmmakers, moderated by Penny Lane, Flaherty NYC programmer and independent filmmaker/educator/writer.
